- Julius Gichohi is the lead the establishment of Regional Centre Training Institute which is the training arm of RCMRD. It the leading institute of Geospatial training institute in East and Sound Africa. Currently offers Geospatial Diploma and professional courses. Before he joined RCMRD in 2014 only IT and BBIT were being offered in collaboration with JKUAT. When he joined he found only six students in their final stage, that meant he would soon be jobless since he was recruited as a training coordinator.
- On this realization he worked extra hard to have RCMRD approved as a TVET training institute which was achieved in mar 2016 and immediately embarked on advertisement and recruitment of students. In may 2016 admitted 36 students for diploma in Land survey.
- Since then there has been no looking back, now having been promoted to Ag, Director of Capacity Building and Training and the Principal of Regional Centre Training institute is proud with a population of more than 1,000 diploma and Certificate students taking Land Survey, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Cartography and GIS and IT. The institute also trains more than 200 professional in application of Geo Spatial technologies mostly from corporate, Governments and fresh graduates from the 20 African member states.
- The Director is now pursuing his PHD in University of Nairobi. MSC in Information Systems, Degree in Mathematic and several certifications. He has more than 25yrs in Training.
