- Dr Daniel Okoh is a Research Scientist and Head of Laboratories at the United Nations African Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education - English, National Space Research and Development Agency.
- He is a First Class graduate of Physics & Astronomy, University of Nigeria. He has a Distinction MSc degree in Space Physics, Rhodes University – South Africa, and a Distinction PhD in Physics & Astronomy, University of Nigeria.
- Dr Daniel Okoh’s research interests are in the areas of Space Weather modelling, especially using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He is the principal developer of the AfriTEC (African regional ionospheric Total Electron Content) model, which is collaboratively developed by a team of scientists from across and outside the continent.
- He is a member of the Expert Team on Space Weather at the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), and a Science Discipline Representative at the Scientific Committee on Solar-Terrestrial Physics (SCOSTEP).
- He presently works as postdoctoral researcher on the New Observatory for Real-time Ionospheric Sounding over Kenya (NORISK), a project of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Italy. He has been a resource person to numerous international workshops on Space Weather, and he has supervised/examined more than 15 PhDs.
