- Catherine Wahome is a Senior Legislative Drafter at Kenya Law Reform Commission. She is a highly regarded law reformer, known for her meticulous legal expertise and dedication to shaping the nation’s legislative landscape. Catherine pursued her law degree at Moi University, where she graduated with Honors.
- She furthered her education with a Post Graduate Diploma in law at the Kenya School of Law and Certification in Legislative drafting at the International Law Institute in Kampala, Uganda. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Law specializing in Intellectual Property and ICT Law at the prestigious Mount Kenya University.
- She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over ten years’ experience in legislative drafting. She is a Commissioner for Oaths, Notary Public, Certified Professional Mediator, and Legal audit and Compliance Specialist.
- Catherine’s career began as a legal officer in the Commission, where she quickly distinguished herself through her keen understanding of legislative intricacies and her ability to draft clear, concise and effective legislation including the current Draft Space Bill, 2024. Over the years, she has played a pivotal role in drafting numerous significant bills and amendments, addressing critical areas such as Disaster Risk Management, Healthcare and Data Protection.
- Her contributions extend beyond drafting; Catherine is actively involved in training and mentoring junior drafters and legal professionals. She is a member of several legal bodies, including the Law Society of Kenya and the Commonwealth Association of Legislative Counsel.
